Hi, I just recently got DVD-RB, I tried rebuilding a few DVDs, but the problem is, the rendered subtitles are really ugly.
I previously used ConvertXtoDVD which drew fantastic nice subtitles, but there I got a problem that setting the vertical bottom margin for them is a constant trial and error, for every movie it has to be different, and mostly when I play the rebuilded DVD on my standalone the subs are drawn under the viewing area of the TV, or are only half visible.

I got these problems too with DVD-RB but less, unfortunately the ugly subs are a big letdown.

I there any option to draw the subs as beautifully as ConvertXtoDVD does them, yet positioning them properly within the viewing area ?
:thanks:

There is no option. RB just copies the subs exactly as they are on the original. It doesn't change or alter them in any way.

Make sure your CLUT is the same as on the original. If they are all green looking, your source has not copied over the CLUT.

DVD-RB is a backup tool. It backs up the subtitles as they were on the original because their size is insignificant -- it doesn't improve them or degrade them -- it just moves them as-is from source to destination.

The "letdown" should be aimed at the original as well. The subtitles are the same.
