View Full Version : DVD Shrink + AnyDVD burning error

Every time I run the DVD Shrink AnyDVD combo the resulting ISO to be burned always errors out. (when I use DVD Decrypter to auto-burn)
It's fine after I run the resulting ISO through Daemon Tools and DVDFab it gives me clean .vob files that burn just fine to DVD.
I would use DVD Fab by itself but it doesn't shrink to DVD5 and I want to keep my single-click solution.

Hi!
1) What is the EXACT error message?
2) If you have DVD Decrypter's bun speed set to "Max", set it instead to 8x or less

I get a similar error in Nero as well.

Those disks are lousy and the burner can't read them. Change to Verbatims or TY. Plus your firmware doesn't support 1x burning. Update your firmware to 1.0C - see http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/firmware.htm
Also, reset your defaults in DVD Decrypter - better still, burn with ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com).
And, if you verify your burn, disable the ANyDVD driver. It will throw up false verify errors.
Moved to DVD Burning.

Why would it throw out the errors only if I use DVDShrink to rip the DVD?
Also, I get the same error in IMGBurn (I actually have that preset in DVDShrink but normal ISO's I had set to DVD Decrypter for some reason)
P.S. I'm not discounting your answer, I'll be upgrading it when I get home and I've reset the settings.

Lousy disks. Firmware outa date.
Got nothing to do with DVD Shrink - it hands off the burning anyway to the burning app and has no burning routines in it.
Nothing to do with a rip. Your burner can't read the blanks. This is because they are cheap and nasty in combo with outa date firmware (or your burner's stuffed).
Get better disks!

I realized that but I was wondering why the error was only produced from a DVDShrink produced ISO as opposed to a DVDFab produced vob folder burned with Nero Lite. I guess Nero burns blind :/

It isn't. It's just circumstance. Sometimes your burns are working, other times not. It is not a cause and effect. After all, the app is simply sending commands and data to the burner.
