MPEG-4 AVC (Nero Freezing while recoding)

I've recoded more than my share of either MPEG-2's and VOB files to Mp4/MPeg-4 AVC using nero recode, been doing it for maybe 2 years.

I've never ever had a problem until recently, at first I thought maybe my computer was just burned out (using winxp and nero 7) and now I have a new computer using win vista and now using nero 8 and the same problem is accuring more and more which i don't understand because I've never had this problem.

I set Nero Recode for AVC with 2 passes, low priority and the highest quality possible. It will run the first pass no problem. then at some random point during the 2nd pass (more often than not lately) it will jam up and the preview picture freezes up and the nero counter for time elasped just continues to go on and on.

I never get a message saying nero stopped responding or any kind of error message. So can anyone help me out with what might be going on here?

It can't be my computer or operating system because it's 2 different computers, 2 different OS's and 2 different nero's. So is this some kinda nero bug?

bug... or it doesnt like the source...

it's always been the same source and i've never had a problem.. it's only the past month or 2 that i've been having this problem

Please submit more details (exact version of Recode, used source, any special settings) so an attempt for reproduction can be started. If it can be reproduced, it can be fixed.

Nero v8.1.1.4
Nero Recode 2
Win Vista
Source: MPEG-2 or VOB files (I've used both and had the same problem, all from files on harddrive)

Nero Recode Settings:
AVC, 2 Passes, Highest Quality,
-2 Deblocking usually but sometimes i use 2 Deblocking.

Resize Disabled.
Priority: Low

Whatever video this happens with, if I give it a 2nd try it'll jam up in the same exact spot sometimes, lets say video 1 it'll always jam up at 98%. Video 2 will always jam at 74%. (The Jam always occures on the 2nd pass)
