I backed up a disk and removed unwanted extra's and a lot of foreign language menus using pgcedit .
Well, somehow i stuffed up the looping ability of the main menu
This menu which conains 1 chapter is held within "VTST 2,2 TTN1 4b" while both pre & post commands are "LinkPGCN PGC 2".

What structure or data as seen within pgcedit causes a menu to loop ? That is ,how can i make the main menu loop at the end of its 0:30 playing time and not either exit playback or lock up windvd :(

Other than this issue, the DVD plays OK within WinDVD.

The precommand will cause an infinite loop and no playback. It should be deleted.

Then, if it still does not work, either there is an infinite cell still time (255) or there is a cell command which takes it out of PGC 2.

Thanks for the sugestion Blutach, (but i lead you astray with wrong info - sorry) :o
The actuall structure is as follows:

VMG ,First play PGC Pre cmd: Jump to VMGM PGC 3

VMGM ,LU 1(en), 3 (dummy) Pre cmd: Jump to Title 2

VTST 2, 1 TTN1 (0:00) Title2 Pre&Post cmd: LinkPGCN PGC 2
VTST 2, 2 TTN1 (o:30) 4b Pre cmd: Set Highlight Button = (mov) 1024 (button1)
(VTST 2,2 shows a cell still time = 0)

Without the title 2 post cmd: link pgcn pgc 2, i don't get the windvd menu button calling the main menu...

The VTST 2,2 4b menu locks windvd and does not loop... I have done a kludge fix by forcing button 4 (extras button) to be selected after 30 seconds. Button 4 calls up the menu via link pgcn pgc2 so it effectively loops :) But if i had hidden the button as i usually do, then obviously this kludge would not work and the looping does not work.

What causes a menu to loop and is there a better fix than the kludge i applied ?

A post command of Link PGCN 2 in VTST 2, 2 would have done the trick. With no post or cell commands, the DVD would come to a dead stop (unless there was a NextPGCN set).

Thanks Blutach, adding the pre command to the menu did the trick.
All structures now seem to work as they should :D

Windvd still has some anomalies but this is an old subject.
