I use gordian knot for stuff where i want best possible quality but AutoGK is great encoding lots of files quickly.
I'd like to see quality based encoding as 2 pass, where you force your desired width and AutoGK decides on the bit rate to give it based on the the 1st pass results. Ie, 2pass encoding to achieve consistent quality, instead of being a particular size.
Also, I'd suggesting replacing that audio normalizer with WavGain or MP3gain.
