Hi folks,
I recorded a short HD program last night via mythtv. While I was watching it, I swapped TV inputs so I can compare the quality of the HD recording between mythtv and Comcast DCT6200 set top box. I noticed that my HD recording had some lost. It was very obvious when the cameraman was following the movement of the comedian. Here is a screenshot taken from my mythtv using import utility. If you download this image and use a phototool like Photoshop, you will see the square/blocks happening on the curtains when you increase brightness. It was very obvious near the bluish part on the curtain. So, what I want to do and hopefully is possible is to burn the short 6 minute program to an HDDVD. However, I only have DVD+R media right now. Can I burn this .mpg file while maintaining the HD quality(not downsample to DVD) to a DVD+r media? I just want to troubleshoot if the culprit is my Nvidia 6600GT not properly displaying the image or if MythTV is doing some stream modification. Thanks!

The color loss is very noticeable in the curtains when color changes to blue to red. The gradient is not smooth as compared when I saw it via Comcast DCT6200.
