Vertical shift of film

With some digitalized movies there is some "vertical termors" of the film. Like all the frame doesn't have the same vertical shifting.
Theses subtle movements are bitrate consuming. Is there a filter to "stabilize" the movie?

not quite sure what you mean there. do you mean gate float? (ie the picture moves subtly by not much more than a pixel) or do you mean something more drastic, like a picture that's shaking around quite noticably?

since I have dubbed film to vhs, it is like a little Vsync (-10 .. -10px) problem and an insignificant Hsync (-1..-1)problem.

Yes, Gate flow, its subtle and slow. like a wave, 3-5 pixel. This happens on the Kubrick's Barry Lindon. this subtle movement is frequent in theaters.

hmm. must be a bad transfer - it certainly wouldn't float that much in the original.

fizick's DePan plugins should be able to tackle this. it'll probably need a fair bit of tweaking though.

what's the region of this DVD? i think i'll try to avoid it if i can.
