Help with Xmpeg!? getting strange error

Hello everyone!

I downloaded Xmpeg4.2a from this place a few days ago. And after I have done the installation a message comes up in some weird language that I dont understand. But after checking in the language dir in xmpeg I figured out that it was this one: #418# "There was a problem loading the plugins or output plugins were found. Please, check the installation and read the manual."

Someone knows what to do?

In the directory of Xmpeg there is a file named "odmlavioutput.cm.flask". You only have to rename this file to "odmlavioutput.cm.Xmpeg". That's all. I think it's a bug of the installer.

Thanks for your reply, but there is no file like that in Xmpeg dir.
The files in the dir is:

amd2.idct.Xmpeg
AVIPlugin.cm.Xmpeg
DVD.mism.Xmpeg
idctmodule.idct.Xmpeg
Miha.idct.Xmpeg
null.mism.Xmpeg
sse2.idct.Xmpeg
Xmpeg

That´s the only files in the directory!? Am I missing some files or what?

You can copy that file after installing an older version of Xmpeg, say Xmpeg 4.1c. At least I checked that out yesterday after reading this on the forum of Xmpeg, I had the some problem as you have (Athlon 1.2 GHz).

But I don't understand it since Xmpeg 4.2a is working fine on my other computer (PIII) without this file "odmlavioutput.cm.Xmpeg" (only with the files you listed below). I think it also works if you rename the file "AVIPlugin.cm.Xmpeg" to "odmlavioutput.cm.Xmpeg".
I haven't tried that on my Athlon but it works on my PIII.

Does someone know the problem with those two files (I assume that they have the same function)? Why can't my Athlon recognize the file "AVIPlugin.cm.Xmpeg"?

Thanks, but it is not working anyway. I tried first to rename "AVIPlugin.cm.Xmpeg" to "odmlavioutput.cm.Xmpeg", not working.
And then after some searching I found Xmpeg4.1c I downloaded it and installed. And It works! I then tried to copy odmlavioutput.cm.Xmpeg
from 4.1c to 4.2a but it did not work either so I guess I have to stick with 4.1c. By the way, what´s the diffrences betwen the two?

I also tried it yesterday (renaming "AVIPlugin.cm.Xmpeg" to "odmlavioutput.cm.Xmpeg") and it didn't work indeed.

Strange, this should work. To be sure you also changed the name "odmlavioutput.cm.flask" in "odmlavioutput.cm.Xmpeg"?

i think AVIPlugin.cm.Xmpeg only works with NT systems say Win2k WinNT and WinXp
if you got a Flaskmpeg version rename the aviout.cm.flask into aviout.cm.xmpeg
