ffdshow vfw xvid encoded video showing as black , audio playing ?

i rendered a video in vegas , using ffdshow vfw's xvid codec , but the resultant video after conversion shows up as black while the audio keeps on playing . Plz help .

Mediainfo shows video encoded with xvid codec , bitrate - 768 Kbps .
