I had this error, too. Strangely the files were fine on another pc which leads me to believe that the issue is driver related. You could try to get new drivers for your video card, and to reinstall the DivX codec. )

I think this is because there are too many options now even in Classic player, to adjust so we do NOT get these horizontal lines.
I managed to adjust classic player, and MP10 too get rid of these
lines, however I can not remove them when playing through PowerDVD 6. Any help would be appreciated.

By "horizontal lines" are you referring to interlacement?

If this is the case, the video should have been encoded properly in the 1st place to solve the problem.

For playback (assuming you don't have the original source and are stuck with the video as is), you should look for a "deinterlacing" filter. PowerDVD's filter is found under options -> video tab -> advanced -> perform hardware de-interlacing. FYI, PowerDVD's filter is very poor. Good Luck!

Thank u for your reply. Yes this is exactly the type of lines I was
getting.
So its all about de-interlacing. I noticed on some codec packs, when I install them, they will overwrite these options, for de-interlacing, so we must go back and change them manually.

Also all my vids are encoded properly.

So are you saying we should not get any Lines in the first place, even if de-interlacing is either turned on or off ?

I'm suggesting that you might want to use a deinterlacing filter when encoding the source file to the target Divx file.

This method would remove the lines in the first place and the Divx file could be played on various software and standalone players without configuring filters etc...

If you're stuck with an interlaced file, you have to configure filters etc, to get the best quality picture...
