Is there any way I can make a, say for instance, 4gb HDTV h264 movie file placed on a standard DVD disc for playing on a HD-DVD player ? I have a XBOX 360 HD Player and would love to be able to play HQ h264 authored files on it. I can fit 2 of these files on to a 8gb DVD, and the quality is usually that of much higher bitrate MPG2 files.
I understand I may be able to stream the files via Zune, but ideally I would like to keep them on DVD and play via that method.
I have tried some software but none seem to accept h264 as a HD-DVD file, only MPG2. But I would take a guess that a HD-DVD drive has the built in ability to play H264 doesn't it ?
Software tried is Movie Factory 6 with HD pack (this re-encodes footage and wont open H264). I don't know what other HD authoring software there is to try.
