I like to edit vob file to take out some parts of the vob file and burn it to dvd as seperate vob's. I should be able to view the vob file on screen while extracting the selected parts.
I don't know if its possible but, I don't want to convert orginal vob to anything else while editing and the extracted parts as a new file also should be in vob format. That way I would not down grade audio or video. What would be a good software to do this and where can I get it.
any suggestions are appreciated...
thanks

I think Vobrator would be your tool. It has a preview function, which is realy nice.
You can get it here on Doom9's download area.

thanks derrow...
I looked at vobrator but, how would you extract the part of the audio/video while previewing the vob file? it does not have begin and end marking (like DVD2AVI) button to cut out the part you need from the file or may be I don't know how to do it. I looked at the readme file it came with and it does not mention anything about cuting out the audio/video part.
Vobrator program has the following features:
- Demux Video/Audio streams directly from DVD
- Preview of vob-IDs
- Converts DTS - PCM DTS
- Nice GUI
I don't want to converting vob to anything else. And the parts I extract also should be saved as vob.
I am not sure if there is any software that can do this.

Ah, sorry. Now I understand.
You want to view it, like transcoding a movie while previewing the current picture.
I don't know any tool, that would do that.
It wouldn't make sense anywhay. For example, if you want to extract a part, that is 30 mins long,
then the extraction process would also take 30 mins to finish, instead of 5 mins without previewing it.
And if you want to have a working VOB file after extraction, then you must leave at least the VOB-ID's intact. That's why I suggested Vobrator.
You can preview, which VOB-ID has got which movie-part. And if it is the one you like, you can extract it.
