I have both Blu-ray and HD DVD to my HTPC and using PowerDVD Ultra to play them. While I was playing around with the soundsettings in PowerDVD I can change the Speaker Configuration in to use S/PDIF while the player is stopped, but when I start the player with an HD-DVD, it turns back to a 2speaker in configuration, but when I set the configuration to use S/PDIF and play a DVD, it stays on S/PDIF. It is because PowerDVD Ultra 7.3 can't handle the new soundformats?

I have S/PDIF and analogs out from my Mystique 7.1 Gold soundcard, but what will give me the best sound when playing the new soundformats??

Thanks for any answers?

for me a "little trick" (?) worked...

- double click on use-waveout-no-dsound.reg to enable spdif out

- double click on use-directsound-no-waveout.reg to disable it again

Say yes when asked if you want to add it to the registry - reboot.

should work now...

you do know what 'pending' means? ... count 1+2+3 together and u will know what it means (= it means what it says ;) ) ...

it has to be approved before the attachment is available...

Thanks but still if I want to get the best out of HD sound will it be to couple the 6 analog channels to my receiver?
