What's happened to Pinnacle Studio forum?

I've been away from Studio forums for a couple of years. I have had a disk crash and so have to reinstall Studio V9. I have 187GB of free disk space but the install wizard says there's not enough! I get the same message if I try installing V8. The Pinnacle forums I used to use seem to have closed down. Any suggestions how I can get this software to install? TIA .... Greg

You're probably running into a depressingly common broken free space check. You might try making a file large enough to take up all but 1 gig, just long enough for the install.

The likely reason is that the logical drive where Windows' TEMP folder resides (typically something like C:\WINDOWS\TEMP) doesn't have enough free space to unpack/extract the installation files. ;)

check for ntfs quoatas as well

The likely reason is that the logical drive where Windows' TEMP folder resides (typically something like C:\WINDOWS\TEMP) doesn't have enough free space to unpack/extract the installation files. ;)That, or the program might be using 32-bit values to check the available disk space, thus being unreliable with disks larger than 4GB. This happens surprisingly often.

Thanks everybody for your replies, figurig out how to reduce the availbale space to <1GB is a challenge but I will give it a go,

my computer -> rightclick the drive -> properties -> quota tab

if you have cygwin you can use the dd command to make a huge files
I'm not sure how to do it with windows scripting

or you can load up mspaint and make a HUEG bitmap and just keep saving it as a new name untill you only have 1gig left
