I would like to know what would be the (ideal?) corresponding setting of ffdshow to get the picture quality of DivX... after a very long time, read ~ 3 years, I did a re-test of the divx decoder - standard setting is like this...

automatic deblocking and minimum film grain...

I very much like the picture I get with these settings of divx

on the other hand I configured ffdshow like this to suit my visual needs...

it is close to the image output but not really near/ as good in my eyes...

what would you say are the corresponding settings of ffdshow...

- minimum film grain of divx = what settings in ffdshow?
- automatic deblocking of divx = what settings in ffdshow?

thanks in advance

/ sill

P.S.: concerning divx "use hardware overlay" is also in use... that would be what in ffdshow?

P.P.S.: decoder for divx/ xvid in ffdshow is set to libavcodec... would setting it to xvid would make a difference? well, I don't see any but in theory...

aren't pictures self-explaining?... hmm, as it seems no - no one answered ;)

ok, for divx it is obvious you - can see automatic deblocking (default) and minimum noise/ film grain switched on.

and again my ffdshow settings in english...
