Cache Split + Fast-Ref-Search (http://mirror05.x264.nl/Dark/force.php?file=./x264.697.fast-ref-search.01.exe), latest SVN build. Cache Split Only, latest SVN build (http://mirror05.x264.nl/Dark/force.php?file=./x264.697.exe). Also the pre-cache-split SVN 694, compiled with the same settings, for comparison (http://mirror05.x264.nl/Dark/force.php?file=./x264.694.exe).

Have fun, and report all bugs/dissatisfaction to me (fast-ref-search) or akupenguin (cache-split) :)

For maximum effect, use UMH and multiple reference frames.

Example comparison, --ref 8 --partitions all --bframes 16 --merange 32 --me umh --bime --subme 7 --weightb --mixed-refs --8x8dct --no-fast-pskip --direct auto --b-pyramid --progress --trellis 1 --crf 25

Original SVN: 38.053 OPSNR, 3005.28 kbps, 1.38 FPS
This build: 38.062 OPSNR, 3032.09 kbps, 2.00 FPS

Dark Shikari, if you don't mind me asking (I wasn't here for a few days) can you direct me to a link or explain what the cache split patch is supposed to do?

I did a search but I can't seem to find it.

I did a search but I can't seem to find it.Some posts in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=131879) explain it. Its basically a free speed boost for motion searching operations on all Intel processors.

Thanks for the build. (cute logo, too!)

Just to be clear, there's no change at all for any type of AMD processor with the cache-split patch?

Revision 696 on the SVN seems to have applied the cache-split patch. Guess it can be removed from the first post to prevent confusion.

And great work on fast-ref-search, Dark Shikari! The speed-up is truly quite significant.
