Hi all , just needed a bit of help if possible :)

I have recorded some 59.97fps content off my dvb card, but am looking to encode it to a 29.94fps .avi file

I have tried using

Decimate(2,0,0.0,3.0,2,"",false)

(its hard to find help on this by using google)

This did bring it to the proper framrate, But this produced a slight "stutter" or "jitter" on panning scenes for me on certain frames... not unwatchable by any means but I'm sure there is a smoother solution

Thanks!!

Those are pretty weird frame rates. Are you sure you don't mean 59.94 fps and 29.97 fps? That is an easy conversion, just throw out every other frame. 59 to 29 fps will not be a smooth conversion since the two are not evenly divisible. Where did you get such odd frame rates?

Yes those are the frame rates I meant

I did not want to add the parts after the decimal in case I typoed -- I thought people would assume these are what I meant

I am glad its easy -- please let me know how

Thanks alot

@Turtleggjp

59.94/29.97=2

@duckdown

try with Tdecimate

example

loadplugin("c:\dgdecode.dll")
loadplugin("c:\TIVTC.dll")
mpeg2source("c:\5994.d2v")
tfm(d2v="c:\5994.d2v").tdecimate()

BHH

Interlace it (maybe partially - those parts when smooth movement is really needed)

How about this:

Loadplugin("...\TIVTC.dll")
ChangeFPS(29.97)
TDecimate()

You should get nice 23.976 fps :)

Yes, but 59/29 = 2.0344827... That's what I meant by it not dividing evenly.

If you want to convert from 59.94 to 29.97, all you need is this:

SelectEven()

Hi sorry -- just a bit confused from all 3 responses

I am looking to make it 29.97 and not 23.xx :)

Which is the best solution :)

Thanks

One response was Tdecimate, one was TIVTC thing, one was SelectEven()

Thanks again :script::script::script::script:

If you don't get smooth playback at 29.97 it means that some frames are repeated. So original (smooth) frame rate will be exactly 23.976.

Use my GUI :)

HI :)

Is your GUI like StaxRip? Cause thats EXACTLY what I'm looking for although StaxRip looks to be abandoned maybe

I am looking for something like stax i can use on my recorded .ts or .mpg files and encode them to a specific size in xvid... Exactly like stax -- but with the option of outputting the video in segments , like you would find in the SAVE AS menu of VirtualDubMod

Can this work??? Thanks!!:goodpost:

RipBot264 supports only x264 codec (better quality at lower bitrates) . However you can just check using my gui if my method works with your file. Simply go to Properties->advanced-> Decimate
