checking for PAL or NTSC DVD

Is there any software or means of testing if a DVD movie or file is either NTSC or PAL? When I load ISO images from various sites I have to burn them first and when I test them on a regular DVD PLAYER it is only then I find out if a movie is in PAL format (thus a wasted burn) or NTSC (which is what I use). There must be a simple way to check if a file or DVD is in either PAL or NTSC?
