Hello,

I have some questions about the features from dvd rebuilder pro 1.26.5 which I can select. I don't know what it does when I select it.

What means: (under mode)

Force reencoding (for filters)
When should I select it?

There is also an option named 'Always use HC for Redistribution Pass'. Do I have to select this if I use CCE for encoding movies?

Under settings:

-Enable Menu Encoding
-Keep Closed Captioning

Thanks

When should I select it?if you don't use any filters at all, don't worry about this option.

There is also an option named 'Always use HC for Redistribution Pass'. Do I have to select this if I use CCE for encoding movies?yes, that is recommended.
of course this only works if if you actually enable bitrate distribution.

Under settings:
-Enable Menu Encodingthis will reencode most menu(s) if they are above size XYZ (50MB IIRC), which can be tweaked manually.

-Keep Closed Captioning

...well, and DVD-RB has an option to keep them.

Remember, menus in VMG (VIDEO_TS.VOB) are not yet able to be re-encoded.

1. If "Enable Menu Encoding" is not specified, do menus go through without any compression?

(I usually Menu Shrink my menus and they invariably become smaller than 50MB, so this might not matter for me, but I'm interested in understanding how it works for potential future application.)

2. Regarding "Always use HC For Redistribution Pass", does this need to be checked if one is using the HC encoder?

3. "Multiple Encoder Processes" What is the effect of selecting this, particularly when using the HC encoder?

1. Yes

2. No, but it can't hurt.

3. If you have dual or quad core, it will fully use them and speed things up.
