How to add an additional audio track?

i have a bunch HD .mkv and .avi files in english, but nobody else in the family speaks it. i looked around and found .ac3 audio for some of them. but i do not know how to either launch them at the same time so that i could select another audio track, or how to combine them. any help on that?

Get mkvtoolnix: http://bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/

It has a very excellent GUI, you can pretty much just drag and drop your source files and your ac3 files, and even set which one you want to play as default, and mux them into another mkv file.
