optional subtitles in AVI file?

Hi all,

I was wondering whether it was possible to add Optional subtitles to an avi file using a MAC.

I think this would be very easy on Windows (using virtualDubMod, for example), but i couldn't find anything for mac.

What I'd like is to add one or two subtitles streams so I could watch the movie on my dvd player and select what sub to show (one of the two, or no one)

any help?

You should look into mkvmerge or Avidemux. You may have to put the avi and the subtitles into a MKV container.
