Recently purchased a new Samsung LE40F86BD (http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Samsung-LE40F86BD/) and a Network MediaPlayer-350 WLAN 500 GB (http://www.freecom.com/ecproduct_detail.asp?ID=3405&CatID=&sCatID=) i have a large collection of movies in 720p/1080i/1080p which i play on my PC and want to play them on my TV with little as possible loss in resolution.
The media player supports
Video: AVI: MS-MPEG4v3/DivX/Xvid (except GMC/QPEL option),
WMV9, WMV: WMV9, MP4: MPEG4 Video, DAT: MPEG1, VOB: MPEG2,
MPG/MPEG: MPEG1/MPEG2
Just wondered what would be the best format to keep the pictures as natural to there original resolution.
Im open to any ideas from converting the .mkv files to another format to buying a blueray writer/dvd player an doing it that way. Just the less loss in quality is the priority.
