I have a CRT TV that flickers a lot when using progressive mode (it uses 50Hz by default for PAL resolutions).
Now I "solved" this by using my Mediacenter PC and setting the resolution to 720p60.
Of course, when watching TV shows or DVD's the result is that the display does not noticeably flicker, but on the other hand, judder is introduced.
I was wondering, is there any software there that can improve the image when playing back 50fps movies at 60Hz ?
Or is there any (affordable) hardware that converts 720p50 to 720p60 ?
Just wondering what my options are if I don't want to replace my TV.
I want to install a sat tuner card next.
A satellite settop box is something I considered as well, but I doubt that any of them allow you to change the ouput refresh rate ???
