.... I load a captured AVI into it.

Hi guys it's been ages since I've posted on any of the Doom9 forum's but this little problem is very annoying.

I'm capturing an Anime TV show using VDUB and PIC 3 codec at 352x288, after all the adverts have been edited out an I rejoin the avi's together using VDUB.

Now when I load the AVI into Gordian Knot it just closes down. I have the Xvid and Divx codecs installed that came with the Gordian Knot packs.

I'm running Windowsxp Pro with SP2.

I know I could use AU/GK but I'd rather use Gordian Knot.

So does anyone know why this is happing?.

Thanks

you video isn't encoded with divx or Xvid... if it's another codec maybe GK don't know and can't open
GK can't open all the avi
try with GKMod but I think it won't work too.

an advice : in the future, encode avi using xvid or divx codec (and not pic 3 which is not very well known)

what do you want to do with you video using GK exactly ?

Thx for the reply.

I guess it's old habits that is the reason for using PIC 3 Lossless codec for capturing.

When I started capturing a couple of years ago every guide stated that using a lossless codec such as pic or huffy was better for it, you have more freedom to do what you want with the avi.

The reason I want to use GK is to crop and resize and encode etc...

then you can use vdubmod with the ffdshow plugin
