Hi guys,

I have a very weird problem with my computer.. it doesn't burn DVD discs. I changed my OS from XP to Vista about a month ago and after about 2 weeks on vista I couldn't burn DVD anymore. When I try to Burn DVD I immediately get blue-screen and computer restarts.
The weird thing is blue-screen will only appear if I try to burn DVD. I can burn CD's successfuly. It only happen with DVD discs.

My DVD drive is 'Optiarc DVD RW AD-7170A'
I tried to change my DVD drive but it wouldn't solve the problem.
I also tried to change versions of nero, but no success.

Please help guys I really don't know how to solve this thing.

Appriciate your help!

Either drive is on the way out, or there is is conflicting driver somewhere. Try another drive in the machine.

@captainil

Hi!I tried to change my DVD drive but it wouldn't solve the problem.This would seem to indicate that the first drive is not the problem.

You might want to try replacing the IDE cable with a brand new one...

Well, if nothing else seems to help, there is only one reliable way to exclude software/driver issues:
Kill your Windows partition and do a clean re-install of your OS. No idea how annoying that is on a Vista system though.
But re-installing Windows fixed a lot of crazy problems for me in the past...

Another idea:
Get some Linux distribution (maybe one that boots from "Live CD") and try to burn under Linux...
