Hey I have a problem with using a capture card, it comes with a bundled app that installs an older version of xvid.dll into the windows\system32 folder, on my old machine it worked great for recording SDTV, high motion @ 640x480 quantize level 2, excellent framerate, no tearing and/or visual artifacts, etc etc. Pretty much perfect other than the fact that my CC wasn't getting enough juice so I put it in a dedicated spare machine. I was using FlyDS on that since the bundled app gave "fail to initialize hardware" due to lack of power I guess.
On the new machine, I first installed Xvid 1.13 and attempted to use FlyDS in the same manner, same settings, same "Xvid MPEG-4 decoder" but the framerate dropped and the image is all blurry and I get that horizontal-line shadowing artifacts stuff.
So I looked in the system32 folder and there was no xvid.dll, only newer version .dlls related to xvid that aren't explicitly named xvid.dll.
So I uninstalled Xvid 1.13 then I installed the bundled app on the new machine and sure enough the xvid.dll popped up in the system32 folder. Great. However now when I attempt to encode via FlyDS I get the same performance degradation, no where near as perfect as it was on the old machine. I think that both the bundled app and Xvid 1.13 installer installed a file "xvid.ax" however, I'm not sure if this got corrupted?
The old machine was slower clock speed and slower RAM. I have screen captures to show the difference please see my post on videohelp (forgive me for cross posting):
