View Full Version : Create "missing" frames?

I was experimenting with the impressive MSU Cartoonizer v.3.0 filter under VirtualDub, using it to apply "painted segments" to the entirety of the DivX v.3.11 .AVI of "Spiderman 3" that I had created from my DVD.

When I realized that the system I was using would require more than three days to do a frame-for-frame full conversion, I set the filter to convert every tenth frame.

Although the resultant converted frames all look great, the video is essentially a stop motion presentation (since only 1 in 10 frames were converted).

Is there a relatively simple way to create the "missing" intermediate 9 of 10 frames?

Hi,

Perhaps with MVFlowFps2 from mvtools, but it seems that multiplying framerate by 10 gives motion an unnatural taste. Perhaps you can set the filter to convert every fifth frame and multiply framerate by 5.

Good luck.

My apologies, as I should have done more research before posting my question.

I just discovered that the original .AVI and the "Painted Segments every 10th frame") version both have the same number of frames - so the "Painted segments" version has already accounted for the "missing" frames by replicating every 10th frame 10 consecutive times!
