Hello to Everyone, how to resize video resolution internaly but output is DVD PAL Standard ?

that means the video is outputed to the encoder in HD rezolution then instead of the output resizing the video, it insteads records it in DVD PAL resolution. something like capturing the video instead of downconverting the video resolution.

like tv with camcorder & camcorder with theater screen. you get different quality results because of the screen size.

As he stated in one of your other posts: He doesn't like to play these games where you're not making any sense at all in any of your responses. He gave you chances, and yet, you're still unclear as to what you're trying to do.

take a hd photo & resize it to 720x576 then take a vcd & resize it to 720x576. what you get is a difference, what i am trying to do is take a hd photo & resize it to 720x576 in theory, so is there a script of such for achiving the desired output ? takes a video & changes it to hd then back to dvd for remastering.

HD>SD is easy enough, and discussed in plenty of threads right here, right now.

SD>HD>SD is usually pointless - you'll just blur (or sharpen) the image a little. You don't get any new useful information.

keep in mind that everytime you resize, up or down, you lose video information. losing information means losing quality.

If you have a super dooper pooper source with avisynth you don't convert the source. The source remains, the output of AviSynth is as you script it. So from the one super source you can make many different output types, sizes and qualities.

Each script that creates a unique output uses the same source. Unless you damage or delete the source. AviSynth does not operate on your source, as a transcoder would.

And of course if I have missed the mark as well, never mind.

spline36resize would be better for upsizing as well, so i'd use 3 calls of spline36; but thats just me. =P

I find Lanczos sharper than Spline36. Not much difference between Lanczos and Spline36 to me, the sharpness can be achieved with some sharpening filter anyway.

I wasn't necessarily talking about the sharpness, but about how much detail it preserves against the other resizing algorithms. I would lead you to this (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=967060&postcount=164) post, but unfortunately the images seems to have been removed (But now that I think about it, I don't think lanczos was included in this test either, or maybe it was. :p)

David's test only included Spline =p
Both Spline and Lanczos look the same to me except for sharpness. Or maybe I'm not that good at spotting details haha.

Hmm, actually that won't work since it requires that the image be the exact same size. I don't know how davidh did it.

There's only really a difference on high frequency patterns. Detailed fabric and building roofs are classic tests, as well as synthetic pattern bars. Otherwise the two filters give nearly identical results.

the resizing is pretty much pointless if you do not use something like a sharpener

also its probably not a good idea to use fixed sizes at first

something like this:

Light deniose
resize
sharpen
resize

Example:

Fluxsmootht(1)
spline36resize(width*2,height*2)
FFT3DFILTER(sigma=0.6, bw=14, bh=14, ow=7, oh=7, bt=2, dehalo=1, hr=1, sharpen=0.9
aWarpSharp(depth=20, blurlevel=2, thresh=0.21, cm=0)
spline36resize(720,576)


From test done over the last couple of years i find the best results come from
spline36resize(width*4,height*4)
anything above that does not seem to improve picture quality on smaller than 42" screens
720x576 is the highest pal resolution for DVD
