Hello

does anyone know how I could possibly edit my AVCHD (.mts) files which my Sony CX7 produces?

At the moment I can "watch" the movies in mplayer (svn) with a lot of the following error messages: Interlaced pictures + spatial direct mode is not implemented.

Is it helpful if I upload some samples from my cam anywhere?

Thanks
Ben

I am pretty sure you can't but just for giggles have you tried using Avidemux?

You could also consider re-encoding the video to some currently editable format, such as MPEG-2 or some lossless intermediate format. However, I'm not sure if the free editing programs can handle high-bitrate HD video with decent performance. Avidemux or LiVES might work.

In any case, keep the original files so that you can do all the hard work again once the tools are there. :)

Yeah, mplayer and ffmpeg are not quite up to the task yet.
