Re-encode 8GB AVC-MKV to 4GB in one step?

hello,

i have tried a lot of guis including automkv, megui, and so on, but i havent found a unique way to re-encode a 8gb avc-mkv file to 4gb. some 8gb mkv also include dts sound, which i normaly transcode to ac3, to shrink the size.

is there a single step program, which re-ecodes everything to H264/AC3 and to an exact DVD5 size? everything in one program.

Why don't you just encode from your original DVD/HD-DVD or the like? Its probably a lot easier.

i have 8GB material here. need to shrink it to 4GB to let it fit on a dvd.

How did you make the MKV movie? If you didn't make it, where did you get it?
