I am attempting to make perfect backups of my HD-DVDs, main-movie only, without expending space on other languages or subtitles.
VC-1 Problem:
With AnyDVD HD, I am able to extract the disc files to my HDD and demux VC-1.stream.0 from FEATURE_1.EVO with EVODemux 0.627 b7. The resulting FEATURE_1.VC-1.stream.0.mpv plays fine in PowerDVD7.3(Ultra) alone, no stuttering/dropping frames or artifact.
However, if I rebuild the .EVO with only the VC-1.stream.0 checked, the resulting FEATURE_1.rebuilt.EVO will stutter and skip when played in PowerDVD, even without audio. The same behavior is exhibited if I rebuild with EVODemux to merge FEATURE_1.EVO and FEATURE_2.EVO, and if I remux in a single audio stream as well.
Tested with King Kong, Million Dollar Baby, and Syriana. Strangely, Batman Begins appears to rebuild perfectly.
H.264 (AVC) Problem:
Demuxed FEATURE_1.H.264.stream.0.mpv plays fine. However, PowerDVD won't play FEATURE_1.rebuilt.EVO (H.264) at all.
Tested with Babel and Transformers.
Summary: demuxed elementary .mpv and .mpa streams play fine alone, skip/studder (VC-1) or won't play at all (H.264) when rebuilt to .EVO with EVODemux.
Is there a better way to automatically remux the .mpv and .mpa streams together? Need something easy, free, and fast - no re-encoding. Doesn't need to be streamable. It just has to play from my main pc.
PS: I also noticed that .EVOs rebuilt with EVODemuxer are about ~1.5% larger than the .mpv or .mpv+.mpa stream(s) that compose them. Can be quite a bit of overhead on a 25GB file.
Thanks
