When I try "Toon(Strength=Float)" I get an error: "I don't know what "Float" means", although when I use it simply as "Toon()" it appears to work.

Float is a data type. In simple terms, it's a number that can have a decimal point, so an example of valid usage would be "Toon(strength = 2.15)".

Thank you very much. The hotfix solved the problem :)

You got it wrong. "Float" here means a float value from 0 to 1. A setting of 0.1 or lower produces best effect (0.05 is recommended), since this is a very strong filter. Finally, thanks Soulhunter for releasing this filter. :)

Edit : A little test by me

Does this function exactly the same as any of the functions that are already out, or is it different than all of them? And if it's the same as one of the functions, how does the speed compare?

It's trying to be as close as possible to 0.8x, but it has about 2 times the precision and the mask is more accurate... Also, it's about 2 to 4 times as fast as 0.82!

Is this filter pretty much final, or might we see some more options added to allow further tweaking of the results?

The only missing params are for the warpsharping and the soft thresholding of the line detection... If you can provide samples where tweaking would be advantageous, or where you are not satisfied with certain areas of the output, the author will try to improve on those or add parameters!

I'm not really sure how advantageous it would be, really, but more for curiosities sake, such as 'how might this look with less warpsharp but more darkening'.

Soulhunter

Yeah, but... I guess the author has simply seen too many fansub releases where somebody abused mftoon in some horrid way because of its configurability, and thats the reason he didnt add this 2 params! ;]

Is it possible to add an option to this filter to thicken lines? This could be very helpful on some sources I have seen.

Also I was wondering what is the default strength? It is 0.05?

You can try Toon-lite... (http://mf.creations.nl/avs/filters/Toon-v1.0-lite.dll) Its basically same as Toon, just without the warpsharp processing! For the default strength... It should be "1.0" :]

I like! Fast and good effect.

Why don't you test it and find out? Or use search?

All right, essentially it helps to enhance "toon-like" sources, such as anime, by applying filtering to edges and such. Why don't you run some tests and find out?

Honestly I login to my acc after long time and saw this thread, didn't read it well and directly started to ask (my mistake ;))sorry.

But what I didn't find on which part of script is recommended to use? mean before resising and denoising or after?
one simple script on how & where to use it will be helpful.

Thanks in advance

Does anyone have the dll's? The website for the downloads appears to not be around anymore.

http://mf.creations.nl/avs/filters/Toon-v1.0-lite.dll is not found or either is toon.

The PoisonDeathray link is good, just downloaded it.

EDIT: Sorry, is v1.0 not the lite version.
EDIT: Tried searching the net, does not seem to be available, only dead links to mf.creations.nl
If its that unpopular, maybe not worth the bother.

Check out the Set mod linked by HolyWu (bottom of first post).
