Audio delay question

If my videostream has a +50ms on it, what do I need to do to the audio so it stays in sync? Do I do a -50ms delay from the beginning?

If your video plays 50 secs earlier than audio, do a -50 delay.
If it plays 50 secs after audio, do a +50 delay.
