AutoMKV & MeGUI - volume levels

Just want to say both AutoMKV & MeGUI are fantastic DVD-to-MP4 programs.

Just one quick query. How can I set the output volume to loudess while keeping good quality? My MeGUI MP4/AVC output sound levels are quite low. It's hardly audible on a PSP on the train with headphones. However AutoMKV MP4/AVC output sound levels are higher than MeGUI. So am wondering whether we can actually set the output video volume levels?

automkv use the normalize fuction (at 100%) for audio gain, and MeGui has a similar fuction

be sure in megui to configure audio profile and check "Increase volume automatically"

Yep, "Increase volume automatically" is checked by default. I see no other setting for increasing the audio gain in MeGUI.

Several times I got audio from MeGUI that was too low. What I discovered was that I had selected "downmix multi channel to stereo" for tracks that were already stereo. I don't understand how this cooked the volume but it did.

Well, the DVDs am processing all have one single audio track which is 6ch. So I definitely have to use the downmix...

I have been told to downmix for PSP/iPod. I don't think it'll run on PSP if we don't downmix. Definitely we needed to change to LC AAC & CBR & 48000 kHz otherwise it won't work on PSP.

Just wondering, does XviD, ffdshow can set the volume on output? Maybe change there?

Though, there is an option for Keep original track. Does that mean it won't encode using the codec NeroDigital?

ffdshow can normalize and amplify the volume.
the keep original track option will just "keep the original track"... that means it wont encode it...

Have you used AutoMKV before? Do you know the difference in NeroAACEnc/ffdshow setup for audio normalization & amplification?

i meant, if ffdshow is used to decode the aac stream, you can set ffdshow to normalize and amplify the volume on the fly.
that's not related to automkv.
