View Full Version : A question on menus

I've been doing DVD authoring for a few years, but there's something I've never been able to fix. I made a DVD using materials that I only had temporarily. I made the DVD perfectly... except I errored by having the program start playing when the disc is inserted.
My question is, what program can I use to have the main menu appear when the disc is inserted instead and how do I do it?
I appreciate any help. Thank you!

As in "a rented DVD?"

No. It's a DVD of things I've done with my camcorder. I put them on my hard drive and in the interim, taped over the originals. After I made the DVD, I cleared the material off of my drive but then started to think, "You know, I should have made the menus come up at the start". I really don't want to re author the whole thing, y'know?

Hi!
1) Does the DVD have a menu?
2) If so, is it selectable once the DVD has started?
3) What software did you use to create the DVD?

One of these might help you edit the program instructions to point to the menu instead of the main movie.

setarip_old: Hello! Yes, it has full menus (Main and sub-menus); they're fully selectable after the DVD has started and I used TMPGEnc DVD Author to create the disc (Oh, and it's a double layer). I meant to make the menu show up first, but I forgot to select that option. It didn't bother me at first, but now it does, since I have 6 titles and without menu selection at the start, the DVD cycles through everything automatically.
foxyshadis: Thans for the link, I'll look into those!

If you saved the project in TMPGEnc DVD Author, you should be able to reload it and simply change the "Firstplay action".
I'm sure you can also accomplish this with eother IFOEdit or PGCEdit...

Use Jump To PGC from PGCEdit. Guide. (http://www.digital-digest.com/~blutach/Jump2PGC/Jump2PGC_guide.html)
After reading, you'll make that in 1 minute.
enjoy,
