I used HDTVtoMPEG2 to cut commercials from a 720p recording and saved it as a ts file. Now this software always gets the audio slightly out of sync when I do that, so I demuxed the file with dgindex and used ac3fix to repair the audio. Now my problem is I'm left with a d2v video file and an ac3 audio file, but no way to remux them back into an mpeg2 or ts file. It's so easy to demux but after extensive searching on this forum I still cannot find an MPEG2 muxer that can handle 720p d2v's with ac3. Already tried ImagoMPEG-Muxer, Rejig, mplex, and tsremux.

Try TMPGEnc. This is the only one that worked for me.

A D2V is not a video file. It is a text file. You cannot mux it into anything!
You should demux the video into an M2V. Then remux the M2V and the audio.

Isn't TMPGEnc designed for converting AVI's to MPEG1? What I need is a way to merge the M2V and AC3 into an MPEG2 file. I demuxed the MPEG2 video, I should be able to re-mux it, right?

Sorry, typo error. I did demux to an M2V. Sometimes I have trouble with all these abbreviations :o
I had no trouble muxing them into a Matroska container, just about anything can go in an mkv - but I want this in a more "established" noob-friendly ;) container without going through the trouble of reencoding.

Imago Muxer can mux M2V and AC3. What went wrong when you tried it?

In TMPGEnc once you run the program (hit cancel on the first screen) and go to file then mpeg tools and select Multiplex and mpeg2 program (VBR) and you should be set. I tried Mplex, Imago utility and Muxman and I did not have any luck with either (my source is 1080i mpg with AC3 audio).

Imago Muxer is a great little utility. I've used it on DVD-resolution material before. But this is the first I've tried it with a 720p ts capture, so I'm wondering if it has to do with the resolution or bitrate. Tried it 3 or 4 times. When I hit the Multiplex button it runs for barely 1 second, generating about 6 seconds of video, and crashes.

Thanks! I'll try that.

I don't know about him, but it's never worked for me too well with HD Video.
MPlex works some of the time, but not all the time. The only muxer that has ever worked consistently for me with HD Video has been TMPGEnc.
