When I do a copy a backup of DVD with Shrink, how do I get rid of the Junk before the main movie.
Do I have to Reauthor which I know nothing about??? And if so is there a site that tells me how to get Only the main movie??

Alos, I wondered how to do this with Nero????
Is there a site as well that explains how to do this.

I simply want the Main Movie.

I would appreciate directions and thankyou for your time.

I have always simply copied the DVD, however and tired of all of the ads for upcoming movies and the warnings etc, when I am doing my Back Ups for my Library,

I must say that I appreciate the members helpfulness in this Forum and the polite attiude and approach.
For a on and off user of these programs it makes one not feel like such a nerd with the attitude of the members/users.
Best Regards.

That's my prefer way of copying my movies, reauthor, drag and drop the movie only and under the compression tab, unclick the audios you don't want, best quality possible.

Hi!

Use RipIt4Me and select "movie only"...

Ripit4me??? I will google it for the d/l and then set movie only, but will it shrink the movie down when it is over 4.75. That is why I was considering 1 Click Dvd Pro and then mentioned also that I was skeptical that Clone DVD had the ability to Shrink down a movie.

I really appreciate your comments as I am trying to get my programs all together here,

When I used Clone DVD in the past it seemed it did only 4.75.

I simply detest all of the advertising in front of the main movie and on't know how to rid of it.

I do main movie in Shrink and still end up with the garbage??? And as far as Nero goes I am not sure of how to rid of the garbage as I us Copy DVD....and don't understand the concept of Reauthoring>>>
Thankyou for your time.

will it shrink the movie down when it is over 4.75.Yes, after RipIt4Me PROPERLY rips your movie, as the use of DVD Shrink is incorporated in RipIt4Me. (Actually, it's 4.37GB).

BTW - Most movies-only come in at less than 4.37Gb

No, ripit4me doesn't compress, it only rips to your hard drive, uncompressed. you would have to use shrink or other program to compress.

PS: I used to love ripit4me while was being update but, that is not the case any more so, why are some still recomending it, knowing that there are many movies outthere it can't handle. i know that ripit4me still works for most movies but, why take the risk? when fabdecrypter (free) is so good and can handle new encryptions because it is updated all the time; by the way, the times when you had to use vobblanker or fixvts after fabdecrypter are over.

@elizerrojas

Hi!knowing that there are many movies outthere it can't handle.Actually, as of today there are only a VERY SMALL number of DVDs (perhaps 5) that RipIt4Me can't properly process...

OK. point taken, again why bother with ripit4me when fab is perfect?

Well, its pathplayer technology is new and far from perfect. A casual read of the Fab forum at CDF will show you this. Fengtao is still ironing out the bugs. But I'm sure he'll get there.

So Ripit4me will do most movies?? I do have Any Dvd that scans the Disc anyway, but most of my children's dvd's that I back up are dual layer and larger than the regular dvd and so that is why I have been using Shrink with Nero in order to get them onto a regular Dvd.

I am using the last version of Nero that worked well and so far continues to work well for me either on its own or with Shrink and Any Dvd and that is version 6.6.0.18.
I continue to be satisfied with this version and have not upgraded to Nero 7 and I believe 8 is out. My bro had Nero 7 and uninstalled it and went back to the version that I am using and the software works fine for him as well.

I simply thought that I would post as so many of my children's movies seem to be of the dual layer long variety and need Shrink as I have tried to do a dual layer back up with my BenQ 162I Ext Burner with firmware updated and have not been successful and at the price of the DL DVD's I decided to compress with Shrink.

Is this combo of Shrink and Nero then not recommended over Ripit3me????
The backups that I will be doing are all New Releases and so I want to insure that the program is able to handle them.
Thankyou for your time and experienced comments.

You are confusing what each prg does. RipIt4Me, like AnyDVD simply rips the DVD to your hard drive (decrypts it). DVD Shrink compresses it. And Ner0 burns the compressed project to optical media (a better and free choice is ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com)). This combination of various programs should suit your needs, but there are other solutions to the compression - eg DVD2One, DVD Rebuilder (http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/), Ner0 Recode to name a few.

@Dew

It now sounds like you're seeking only a true "one-click" solution.

If so, try (commercial software) DVD95CopyPro. It can properly process ALL presently existing copy protection schemes. It will do all of the following for you:

1) Decrypt
2) Compress
3) Burn (your choice of a builtin burning program or NERO)

I use DVD Shrink to rip out the stuff I don't want, since it's interface is nice and pretty, and then use DVD-Rebuilder to compress since it has better quality, but it's interface for removing stuff sucks. Then burn with Nero or ImgBurn.

I have tried other commercial programs, however have used Shrink with Nero incorporated in it and Any DVD running in the background for the decrypting.

I have only used Any DVD Ripper once on the first movie of Resident Evil, which I posted my problems with and eventually returned for a refund as it was impossible to back up.

I have been used to using Shrink, but had problems with all the preview ads at the beginning and did not know how to rid of them, however now with the advice to do "main movie", which I thought that I was already only doing; I will try again and see what error in my selection process that I am making so that I don't have all of these previews etc. on the back up.

I thank everyone for the comments. As mentioned my many of my children's Dvd's that I do backups on are dual layer and so that is why I have been using shrink to fit them onto a regular disc.

Does ripitforme really work that well? If so, I will have to try it...I have been having trouble lately.
