Am i missing something?

Hi guys, been using divx for awhile and i recently downloaded pro. But i dont seem to have alot of features? I dont see anything new and i'm wondering am i missing something??? screenshot included of m advanced features....

Is there some option i'm missing to use/active more?

I dont have cropping or frame rates etc... did i get jipped by accident when i shouldve got pro??

Yah i did, and thats why i'm wondering if something went wrong. IS this pro??

I've never seen pro before so i dont know if it is or not thats why i'm asking in this thread :) BUT.. i dont 'think' it is.

Does it look like pro too you guys or is it just the regular divx?

The "Pro" features are all under the hood. Better quality (not my claim), better speed, better multi-core support, etc.

When I first started my DivX encoding adventures 2-3 years ago, I purchased the Pro version from the get go, so I can't really tell you first-hand how much (if any) better it is than the free version, though. Sorry.

But doesnt pro let u adjust frame rates & crop etc?????

Cuase mine u cant even adjust the frame rates. That doesnt seem like it'd be the pro version too me?

Cropping, sure. When you configure the codec (i.e., select the Profile, etc.), it's on the Video tab:

Frame rates, though, I'm not sure what you are talking about. I mean, isn't that something you should set and control (and convert, etc.) within the application?


Edit: Okay, I changed the 'xx' in your link to 'tt' and loaded up your screenshot. I understand now. :p No offense to the DivX crew, but their "Converter" is a piece of junk software with very little reconfigurability. To fully customize the encoding settings, you will need to use other software which will grant access to the options window I show above. Still, though, like I stated originally, most of the 'Pro' enhancements/features are under the hood down inside the engine.

Heh... that's a loaded question. :) It depends on what you are doing, how often you are doing it, etc.

I don't use it myself, but for general purpose needs, I think MeGUI is popular around here. (Check the MPEG-4 Encoder GUIs (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?f=78) sub-forum for more info.)

Also, and again, I don't use it myself, but AutoGK is the other dominant application around here. It even has its own sub-forum: (Auto) Gordian Knot (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?f=28). :p
