Codec Question

What codecs are needed to HEAR clips encoded with QDMC audio??

Example: QDM2 clips require 2 quicktime files in your system directory (Quicktime.qts (Main codec) and Qtmlclient.dll (3rd party program access to codec))

What files are needed for QDMC???

I use VLC and i wanna 'HEAR' qdmc clips also (Not just see them :))

hmm, ffdshow seems to support QDM2 via libavcodec, so libavcodec does support QDM2. No need to use proprietary QuickTime decoders!
But I cannot find QDMC ...

QDMC was the first version of the codec which was apparently short lived and quickly superceded by the second version, QDM2.
While QDM2 is supported in open source software (via FFmpeg), QDMC is not supported at all at this point.

hmm... I guess you are pretty much limited to QuickTime for the old QDMC :rolleyes:

Someone said thier "Mplayer" uses "Quicktime.qts" for QDMC but when i play them they are silent......

Do you have the "Quicktime.qts" in the "codecs" subfolder inside your MPlayer's install folder?

You might want to grab my MPlayer package from here, which should have everything included:

If you want to try MPlayer (http://mulder.dummwiedeutsch.de/home/?page=projects#mplayer), you need to place them in MPlayer's own "codecs" folder, because MPlayer handels it's Codec DLL's separate from the operating system. The "codecs" sub-folder can be found in MPlayer's install folder (the folder where the MPlayer.exe file is located) ...

Well VLC finds the Quicktime DLLs in my SYSTEM DIRECTORY where i put them so i was hoping i could add another QT file that would decode QDMC audio....

No big deal though,@ least i got QDM2 audio working (Which was a goal for awhile)

Yes i did thank you my friend...

Well when i didnt have those 2 files in my system dir QDM2 files were silent and now i can hear them so it must be looking for them there! (VLC is an awesome program (As we all know :)))
