Hi,

I was wondering how to generate the first pass information correctly if I'm planning on doing an inverse 3:2 pulldown on the material (ie. my final video will be a 23.98fps from source 29.97 material)

Should I run the first pass doing an IVTC, or should I be doing the first pass under the original frame rate?

(I'm using VirtualDub).

Help is appreacted.

Thanks,
SLam

The video you feed to the encoder should always be identical between passes. So, yes, you should do all cropping, resizing, IVTCing, filtering etc. before you start the 1st pass.
