View Full Version : vorbis in .mkv refuses to work in mpc

For whatever reason whenever I try to play back a .mkv with vorbis encoded audio inside, mpc absolutely refuses to play back the audio and tells me the pins for it failed to render.

I went ahead and googled around to see if there was a directshow filter for vorbis, and I downloaded the illiminable one and installed it. That did absolutely nothing to fix the problem. Plus, no matter what combination of vorbis + video, it refuses to play.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why mpc is refusing to playback my mkvs with vorbis inside of them?

Uninstall the illiminable stuff and use CoreVorbis or ffdshow.

If those files are really badly created, then you might need the Vorbis ACM codec.

Thank you clsid! It's working perfectly now.
