dvd player sensetive to burned discs

hi,
i have an onkyo dv-cp704. i already returned one of these because it refused to play the second layer of dvds. that was almost impossible to explain at my local electrinics store.

now i got another one, and this one is very sensitive to burned dvds, be it single or dual layer. i've tried different brand media, burning slower, several different software. nothing helps, and the same discs play fine on pretty much anything else.

my question here is, if anyone knows how i would go about returning/exchanging this player, or perhaps fixing this. seeing how onkyo has no technical support online, and the store probably wont take it back anymore, what can i do?

Retun it and exchange it for a different brand of player...

well, i've had it for over a year now; from date of purchase. their return policy is 3 months i bielieve.
