Trying to encode just the audio

OK, trying something new.
How do I encode the wav file from dvd2avi into an mpeg stream ready to mux with a video stream to make an videocd in tmpg?

I tried selecting just the wav, an no vid, then choosing the template, i hit start, a bit latter, the mpg file was over a gig, almost equal in size to the wav?

Forgot to check Audio only...

Have you tried using tooLame ?
