Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me out here. I have an ATI Theater 550 Pro capture card and I was wondering if its possible to capture off of PS3 using this S-video cable (http://cgi.ebay.ca/PSYCLONE-ESSENTIALS-S-VIDEO-CABLE-FOR-PS3-8-FT-NEW_W0QQitemZ290173271358QQihZ019QQcategoryZ147177QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).

I've tried to see if I can using the PS2 S video but it doesn't work, I can't seem to find the composite wires for my PS3 so I can't test those, the one's I have tried do not work.

So the question is, if I buy a S video PS3 cable, can I connect it to my s-video input for my capture card and record that way?

I can't do HD right now so its no biggie at the moment, maybe for the new pc.

Will this work? If not, can I connect it to my dvd recorder with s-video instead?

As long as the s-video feed is working, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to capture it.

Yeah, I've tried the one I have for my PS2 on my PS3 and it was a no go. So that's why I want to make sure buying this PS3 wire is worth it...and most of all if it will work.

Well, just thought I'd update...I found out why my s-video wasn't showing through, I had to set the PS3 to show video through the S video since it was still set to HDMI at the time. It works now. And I didn't even have to buy a new one. The one I have for the PS2 works fine. :thanks:
