View Full Version : AC3 sound stops after 5-6 minutes

Hi,

I encoded Patriot and Full Metal Jacket with DivX4.11 and unmodified AC3 sound as described in the guides (interleaving every 88 ms).

Sound works fine at the beginning. but after about 6 minutes of playing the video (WindowsMP 6.4 or MircoDVDPlayer 1.1) it just goes quite. no sound anymore.
a simple stop (not pause) and play resolves the problem and i can watch another 6 minutes.

I installed the soundfilters, graphedit and the divx codecs. intervideo windvd 3.0 cracked fullversion.

the movie is on the hd. i also killed every program in the background.

any ideas?

This problem was discussed before. You have only a trial version of the ac3 decoder (ivaudio.ax). A full install of WinDVD would give you the decoder.

Alternatively you can Get the avi/ac3 filter pack from doom9 (Link: http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Files/Audio/audiofilters.zip ) or install PowerDivxNG.

thx

the search function is disabled and after 4 pages i gave up searching manually.
the thing is, that i had installed the audiofilters, but deleted it afterwards, because i thougt they were copied into the windows dirs. now i saw, that they are "only" registered.

There is no intervideo filters ditributed with PowerDivX. Anyway look at www.divx-digest.com, download the tsunami or nimo codec pack, it should help to solve your problems

well, the audiofilters.zip did it for me.

what additional functions do the other two (tsunami or nimo codec pack) have?

.... about the NIMO pack, goto DivX.com newbie section and ask Nimo ... or use search function there.

Both Tsunami and Nimo packs include practically all of the codecs and DirectShow filters you may need for digital media playback and encoding, not only for audio.

The Tsunami pack is most probably the most updated and also includes the M$ hacked Mpeg4 v1, v2, v3 codecs, latest versions of Ligos DS filters, etc. The point is that this is an auto-installation pack and there may be a danger to screw up few things in your system, specially if you have already installed the standalone versions of the various items; for a brand new, fresh system it is definitely the best one.

The Nimo pack is AFAIK distributed as an sfx (auto-extracting) ace file. You may open it with WinAce and extract it in a temp folder and then compare the included codecs and filters with those you have already installed (for most of them, check your %windir%/system and %windir%/system32 folders, or carry out a manual search).

Another approach you may follow: try to find the WinDVD 3.51 DTS retail (there is an ISO file circulating in warez sites) and the PowerDVD XP v4.0, but please don't ask in public for a link (forum rule #6). If you wish, send me a private message or e-mail and I may be able to provide you with a few url's.

Like you said, the problem is the trial version.
when i register the 3 files:
iviaudio.ax mpgaudio.ax mmswitch.ax
from the windvd 3.0 cracked trial i have 6 minutes dolby digital.

with the audifilters.zip files i have unlimited stereo because i cannot select 4 speaker mode in the iviaudio properties.

so thats basicially what you all said. the nimo codec pack didnt do much, cause i still couldnt choose 4 speaker mode in the iviaudio properties.

Sorry, my fault. I thought they were included, but then again I never got this player working on my machine.

@Amerzone

Tsunami isn't a full auto install anymore. The latest version I have offers a custom install allowing you to turn off whatever you don't need. The intervideo filters it provides worked perfectly for SPDIF output.

Thanx MaTTeR for the info. The latest Tsunami pack I came across is v3.89F, if I'm not mistaken, but I doubt it is the most recent one. Could you send me the url with a pm or e-mail, please?

Actually I think 3.89F is the latest version or at least that's all I've been able to find. I think the difference is that 2 installers exist. One is called a mini-install and the other is called a full installer. The problem is I don't remember which version I have as I'm away from home this week and unable to check. Check out this link..

even the nimo codec is not capable of more than stereo.
what i want is a 6.1 (or 4.0) output. nothing less.

any idea, where i can get that codec?

version 3.8.9 is very old, you can find the latest version 3.9.1 here :

that was the one i tried earlier today. still didnt work. do you have it installed?

when i klick on "properties" in the media player and then "intervideo audio" i can only select 2 speakers and not 4 or 5.1.t
thats my problem.

does it work on your machine? if so, could you send me your iviaudio.ax?

Thanx Tsunami for the link. Does the v3.9.1 pack offer a selective setup, or it is an all-in-one installation like the older releases? Btw, I take the occasion to ask you something off-the-topic: Soon after the OS installation on a fresh machine (WinME) I installed the good old M$ Windows Media (Services) v6.4. The M$ Mpeg codecs v1, v2, v3 appear in the "Devices" tab of the "Sounds and Multimedia". Videos with the fourcc code "MS-MPEG4 V2" play ok, but when I try to play a video with "MS-MPEG4 V3" I get the error "MMSYSTEM272: There is a problem with the device driver, bla, bla" Do you have any idea how could I manually correct this? I know, I should try your pack, but if you know a way to fix it manually, I would like to try it... I'm not interested in encoding with this codec, all I want is playback.

show me a link to 'M$ Windows Media (Services) v6.4' and I may help you (I am too lazy to look for myself). or do you mean windows media tools ?

if the codec is ms mpeg-4 v3 version 4.1.0.3920 only works with asf not with avi.

if there is another version included i don't know the answer without looking into the software you are using (media services).

Bloody hell, terrible mistake from my side :mad: Sorry for the confusion... I mean I installed Windows Media Tools (Services) 4.1. Ignore the 6.4 mark, for a moment I had in mind WMP... In my %windir%\system folder I have the following:

mpg4c32.dll v4.1.0.3918 --> 413,760 bytes
mpg4ds32.ax v4.1.0.3857 --> 245,136 bytes
mpg4dmod.dll v7.1.0.3055 --> 239,952 bytes

Any idea now?

ChristianHJW

@ToniT :

you should use another player, WMP is no good for AC3 multichannel output IMHO . Try BSPLayer or PowerDivX 3.12, both are at Doom9 download or last one from http://www.powerdivx.com ..... set the AC3 output to 'default WAVEout device' and make sure the newest AC3 decoder filter is installed .... Tsunami's latest pack should come with a suitable filter ....

> mpg4c32.dll v4.1.0.3918 --> 413,760 bytes

the original ms mpeg-4 v3 codec version greater than 3688 are only usable with asf files, not with avis. the v2 codec is allowed to be used with avis. if you want to play avis with this version of the v3 codec you must patch it (2 bytes i think), but in my optinion you better use the hacked version 3920 which is included in my filter-pack.

> mpg4ds32.ax v4.1.0.3857 --> 245,136 bytes

this is an old version of the playback-filter

>mpg4dmod.dll v7.1.0.3055 --> 239,952 bytes

you better rename or delete this file, because it can cause problems during playback of avi files.

Thanx Tsunami!! :) The hacked 3920 (Microcrap :p) solved the problem. I am really impressed by the tons of information I've found in your Info section...

I'm glad that it helped you.

If you can read the info-files included in my filter-pack than you are german, right ? take a look in the ultimateboard.de if you want, there you will find many more important infos

Amerzone

No, tsunami, I'm not German, but I can read "basic" Deutsch, unfortunately not up to the level to be able to follow a german forum.
