We need a 1080HD profile for XviD

Since DivX came out with a 1080HD profile with version 6.7 it could be a good idea for XviD to include this profile also.

Edit: Celtic Druid's cvs.head.MTK build (found here (http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/XviD/)) comes with an HDTV profile. <shrug>

1) Why make developping for that ... it's simply useless. level is simply vbv setting and with XviD (CLI) you can choose vbv like you want ...

I disagree. I use XviD for all my 1080p encodes. I like how it uses much less CPU than AVC, and also how I can open my XviD encoded AVI files in VirtualDub for future reprocessing/editing. Also, thanks to XviD I was able to enjoy Transformers at full 1920x800 resolution (transcoded it myself from my purchased HD-DVD, took over 2 days :eek:) on my non-HDCP 23" Sony LCD monitor and Radeon X800 (both of which PowerDVD does not like). I used a slightly higher bitrate than I normally do, and it came out to just under 10GB. Large, I know, but still about half the size of the original.

True, I could probably get smaller files with x264, but I just don't like how difficult it is to work with compared to XviD. I guess I'm just old fashioned that way. Heck, I didn't stop using Divx 3.11 until I started doing stuff in HD about 2 years ago.
