RMVB and AVI * different dvd output space?

hello,

i want to know if a RMVB file with the same episode, chapter, movie, etc.. of an AVI have the same output usage than this AVI file when converting it to dvd


im askin because the difference of MB between AVI and RMVB is very high but still u get great lookin RMVB files, but is this difference valid when converting/making dvds out of them? or is the same dvd usage?

output usage....? What are you asking exactly?

DVD output size will be dependent on your encoding settings, not the source size, though source quality can change the size if you use a CQ encode. But neither will be as good as starting from your original DVDs.

Just copy your original DVD directly. Don't go through intermediate RMVB/AVI encodes.

im making a recopilation from my dvds to a friend, so im trying to put all i can sacrificing the quality a bit, i guess the rmvb idea wasnt accurate


PS: i know this is not supossed to be in here but do u know if there are stand alone that can read RMVB? tryed google but i got all type of stuff except for the answer
