Can I build a correct DVD structure (I mean a "VIDEO_TS" folder which I can then burn to a DVD-R disc) only from .VOB files which I have made using The FilmMachine software? Which software should I use?
I would use IfoEdit but it requires my files to be named in a specific way which I don't really know...

Hi!Can I build a correct DVD structure (I mean a "VIDEO_TS" folder which I can then burn to a DVD-R disc) only from .VOB files which I have made using The FilmMachine software? From what I understand, "Film Machine" builds a full DVD "package" (.IFOs, .BUPs, .VOBs) from .AVIs - so you should have all of the files you need...

Yes, The Film Machine builds a full DVD package but every time I converted a video file I were just moving the .vob file to another folder and deleting the rest of the files.
I thought that it will save time in the future - I thought that after I convert all my video files to .vob files I'll just put them all in Nero and it will do all the rest. Well... It doesn't! :D

Based on your statements that you were unsuccessful using IFOEdit and NERO (I presume you mean NERO Recode), the simplest solution would probably be to simply once again use "Film Machine" to convert your original .AVIs - and KEEP ALL OF THE FILES...

IfoEdit should work fine if the movie is in VTS_01_*.VOB files (where * is >= 1) However, if you have menus, you will not be able to keep them.
Use "Create IFOs".

I'd do that but as far as I know the * should be a number between 1 and 9.
What should I do if I have 14 files? Can I just divide them into two groups (VTS_01_1 - VTS_01_7 and VTS_02_1 - VTS_02_7)? Will IfoEdit work with such files?
I ask because if I want to create Ifo files with IfoEdit I have to choose the first file (VTS_01_01.VOB) and IfoEdit does all the rest. But will it handle two titles?

No, you have to provide all VOB files of one and only one title.
If you want to compile several titles as one DVD, begin by creating the IFOs for each title with IfoEdit, and then use DVDShrink in re-author mode to do the compilation.
I'd do that but as far as I know the * should be a number between 1 and 9.
That's right. But a DVD with a menu can have VIDEO_TS.VOB and VTS_**_0.VOB files too. You cannot easily create IFOs for those files with IfoEdit.

Please clarify...

As I wrote in the third message:

Are you saying that for each individual .AVI that you converted, you created only ONE .VOB - and you now want to combine .VOBs of different .AVIs all into ONE DVD?

Yes. The VOB files share the same parameters if it matters.

If, as you say, you now have 14 .VOBs, each one of which is a complete movie converted from an .AVI, there is absolutely no way you could conceivably fit them all on ONE DVD.
You very likely can fit only one per DVD-5...

Perhaps they were small clips? If so, take r0lZ's advice. Make them into DVDs and reauthor in DVD Shrink. If they are lengthy, setarip's last post will prevail.
