Could my current codec configuration be improved to maximise quality?

Can someone please help. I constantly encode many Simpsons/Futurama videos with Xvid and AutoGK, and usually, I just feel like the quality in the end result could be a lot better if I did something else to the configuration. I don't know what else to do, but I'll show you my current Codec configuration, and can you tell me if something should or should not be used/ticked. I'm looking for the absolute best quality, even if it means having less detail but less blocks.
Because I'd rather have less detail than to have more blocks.

Currently, my Xvid configuration goes like this:

-Main Settings-

Bar slided far left (Maximum Quality)

-Encoding Type-

Twopass - Second Pass

-Profile@Level - More...-

Quantization Type: Left on H.263
Global Motion Compensation: Ticked
Adaptive Quantization: Ticked
Packed Bitstream: Unticked
(Everything else left untouched)



-Zone Options-

Cartoon Mode: ticked. (Everything else left untouched)



And this is my AutoGK configuration:


-Output Size-

Predefined Size: 1/4 CD [175 mb]
Custom Size (MegaBytes):
Target Quality (In Percentage): 100


-Advanced Settings-

Fixed Width: 640
Audio: Auto
Codec: Xvid

Using AutoGK?
Then all your Xvid settings are discarded since AutoGK uses its own settings. If you want to have full control over Xvid you should go with some other application like GK or Staxrip which allow you to change those settings, especially Staxrip with the option to save a profile for each type on encoding.

As jsquare just said, changing settings in XviD configuration dialog do not affect setting used by AutoGK.
If you definately want to continue using AutoGK for the cartoon encoding, I suggest to at least check Force cartoon mode in advanced settings panel (can be accessed by pressing Ctrl+F9 while in AutoGK).
In case you want to try another program where you can edit your settings more fully (e.g. StaxRip as it was pointed out before), you should definately uncheck global motion compensation. I would also recommend setting bframes ratio to 1.0 and offset to 1.
