problems with mp3 and wav header

hi i have a problem with some movies. audio is converted with divx ;-) audio and when i play the movies do not play correct. when i save one of the movies without audio there are no problems with the picture. i wanted to save the audio (virtualdub) to a folder and covert it with one other mp3-codec but after saving it i have a mp3-file with wav-header. using wavemp3.exe does not work in this file. this means that i can´t make ánything with this file. what can i do to:

change the header?

to convert the divx ;-) audio file to other mp3 file

do you have other solutions??

afaik when demuxing with virtualdub, audio is saved as wav-file. so i think you already have the wave file. use lame to convert it to mp3, remux with vdub and you're finished...
